We are very pleased to announce the upcoming conference of Institute of Behavioural Sciences in the University of Debrecen organized by the Institute of Behavioural Sciences in the University of Debrecen to be held for the first time in Hungary.

The aim of The ESTD is to increase the understanding and knowledge of treatment methods of complex traumatization, trauma-generated dissociation and trauma-related mental disorders as well as to promote communication and cooperation among professionals working in the field.

It is a great honor and pleasure for us that Onno van der Hart and Suzette Boon, leading and pioneering experts in the field of trauma, authors of numerous books and articles accepted our invitation.

Prof. Dr. Onno van der Hart

Emeritus Professor at Utrecht University, founder of the theory of structural dissociation, is deservedly called the father of dissociation in modern Europe. Dr. Suzette Boon

Lectures given by prof. Eli Somer, Liora Somer

Eli Somer is an Israeli Professor of Clinical Psychology at the University of Haifa. He is the former President of both the European Society for Trauma and Dissociation (ESTD, 2009-2011) and the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation (ISSTD, 2005-2006). Somer is the founder and a scientific advisor of TDIL – Trauma and Dissociation Israel, and a member of the International Advisory Board of the Jewish Coalition Against Sexual Abuse.

Liora Somer is an art therapist and cognitive-behavioral therapist at the Bani Zion Hospital's Interdisciplinary Center for the Treatment of Survivors of Sexual Abuse, Haifa, Israel. Over the years she has accumulated extensive experience in the treatment of children with special needs, parental guidance, counselling, teaching and supervision of students and professionals. For the past twenty years Liora has been specializing in the treatment of traumatized survivors of childhood abuse. She presents and teaches nationally and internationally, and has served for the last ten years as the chairperson of TDIL – Trauma and Dissociation Israel.
